When I go to start my Jeep I have to put the key in then try to turn it about 100 times before it finally accepts it and starts to turn over. ( Won't even go to aux power) any ideas?
This is only a guess but Maybe the ignition actuator pin? Try Googling it. It's an easy fix if that's what it is. Others here would have a better idea, I'm sure.
My red jeep does the same. sometimes I insert the key and it will not turn. If I remove the key and reinsert it, sometimes it will then turn, or I may have to remove it and do it all over again. I have had to reinsert it several times before it will start. I replaced the actuator pin on my other jeep. This is different from that. Key would turn, jeep just would not turn over. hope you find it, its more than likely the same as mine.
Same thing happened to me. Used a rubber mallet and gave the key a solid hit. Not HULK SMASH, but solid. Then the key turned over. It has to do with a locking....bars...that drop to unlock the ignition, and allow it to turn.
