(kinda long) it finally happend,

i smacked a deer. here is a couple shots of the damage.

this is one before the deer,

I was heading back out to the lake, I had to take the GF home and grab a battery for our troller motor because the one we had was dead and we were tired of paddling. I dropped her off, swung by my house, grabbed the battery out of the cherokee started heading back out to the lake. I jumped back on the highway started out for the lake, get about 6 miles from my house cruisin about 70-75 and I see two glowing eyes on the side of the road, then the they came into the lights. the only thing i could do was slam the brakes. front end locked up, smacked the damn thing. just glad i was not in the left lane, there were two of them, i think they were both doe's. When it was standing they were about as tall as i was when i was sitting in the jeep. Damage aint too bad. Just the fender is all i noticed by the time a cop showed up after i called it in. i filed the report, start heading down the road and there is a whistle coming from the drivers door, the top of the door is bent out. i keep going and i find out that if you have a turn signal out it starts beeping at you every mile, which pisses me off even more, and now both of my front tires are flat spotted, BAD.

so i get out to the lake take the battery down to our little 10 foot flat bottom, and all is good. we go check all of our limb lines, and no luck, fish are too busy eating bugs. Chilly night, warm water, the bugs sit on the water, we would be having better luck with the throw net then the limb lines.

we (a really close buddy) get done and pack everything up to leave, then i noticed that the hood was bent in the center of it too!!!

damn good luck, hopefully the insurance will cover all of it. the door, hood and fender. the hood and door are not logged on the accident report.

Was the venison tasty??

Sorry about your jeep, but I hope the cop let you keep the deer!
A freezer full of meat, will offset the hassle of getting fixed.

i would have, but when the body swung around and hit the door, it would have busted and before i could have pulled it out of the road, it got ran over again. i would have loved to keep the meat. i called a friend last night and told him we are going on a hunting spree. those things are way too overpopulated over here, last year i was told that there were over 200 a square mile.

My extended family has always used "deer whistles" on their rigs and for the longest time i thought it was a bunch of crap. But after almost hitting 5 deer while driving out to the property i threw some on my old ford ranger. Ever since i have not even seen one near the side of the road... Either they work and scare them off.... OR everyone else hit them and killed em all...lol

i had them on my moms expodition, but with it only having a glass pack, and a small one at that, it scares them off with a stomp with the right foot. heading home from the lake, you have to come up and over a levy and it has curves, saw a couple, kicked into neutral, and romped on it, they bolted really fast.

im gonna build a bumper that will protect the whole front end. i want to get the AEV Highline body kit. i will see what it will cost to replace the door, hood and fender, then go from there.

i have some 33X12.50 firestone destination AT's that i will throw on the jeep till i can afford some better meats if i get the AEV kit. they are what i have on the chero right now. but with the front bumper i was thinking something kinda like a stinger but not as big that way if i hit one dead center it will just plow it under me after it gets ripped to shreads

if i would not have hit the brakes either
A: i would have missed, or,
B: The damn this would have ran out in front of me and the damage would have been worse.
