Krylon Prep work

I want to re-paint my fender flares with krylon fusion, I have done this before but I want to know what other people have done as far as prep work.

Does anyone sand them down? If so at what grit? And what type of primer do you use if any? And how many coast of krylon do you use?

Thanks everyone

Clean them with a good degreaser, scuff them with a scotchbrite pad. You could sand them with a very fine grit paper, lightly to give a little tooth to the surface. I'd use a primer that's compatible with the Fusion...

If you clean them before you sand/scuff them, then you aren't pushing the greasy/oily/dirt deeper into the surface.....

I did mine with Fusion a couple of months ago... and i all i did was wash my jeep, ( it would have seemed stupid to just wash the flares so i did the hole car as well). Then i took a 250 grit sand paper to each one to get the oxidation off partly, then switch over to 400 grit to finish it off. then wipe off the flares... then i sprayed on the krylon fusion.. 3-4 coats on each.
Good luck!
