I figured out how to diagnose!!! I used half a can of seafoam in the intake. When I did this process, and it started to smoke, there was a considerable amount of smoke coming out right above one of the precats. I'm pretty sure there shouldn't be any exhaust coming from out of there correct?

I ordered the header with the flex pipes in it I hope this fixes the problems. Oh and the dealership who had it before I did welded the exhaust back together but they did it all the way up the two pipes which made it crack at the top.

No there shouldn't be anything coming out of the precat but you probably have a gasket leak not a cracked pipe. It usually cracks where the two pipes come together.

bought a 93 and it had cracked header as well (where the pipes join). we went ahead and welded the 2 together with a good bead and it is going strong. There was another crack as well up closer to the gasket but we fixed that as well. Stock headers are known for this. Weld it or spend the cash for a good one.

It is alright man people do that all the time on here as long as you get your question answered then it doesn't matter. I just hope that the flex pipe heads don't crack.

My flex pipe manifold I got is still holding up great, but then again it's still sitting on my back seat

I put mine in this afternoon and what a difference it made, the thing purrs like a kitten now. I found 4 cracks in the old manifold. Everything went real well except I cracked both of the holes on the intake manifold trying to get it off, but nothing real major.

When I get mine on I will take some pics of the old one. One of my pipes is almost broke in two.

We just got it sitting on the pins as best we could and tighten it up, theres enough bolts holding it down. It's very unlikely it'll ever move.

The idiot who welded up my exhaust manifold needs a kick in the pants. It nearly cracked both pipes in two. I have posted some pics of the old manifold. I have the new one with the expansion joints I will let you guys know if it cracks.

Same problem

I'm having the same problem with my header. It leaks. I'm not sure if it is cracked or warped. Which is better--Weld it closed, or buy a new header? It's a brand new engine by the way, just with my old header on it.
