Leaking rear axle seal Wrangler Sport

HELP on fixing rear axle seal from leaking tried new seal,put sealer around new seal still leaking 2004 Wrangler Dana 44 axles all still stock 69,000 miles HELP

Not sure why it's still leaking, but you could have tightened your yoke nut too tight which will result in a leaky seal? I just replaced mine (dana 35) by following this write up.... Good Luck!

I had a battle with a leaking pinion seal. Blew 4 of them out before realizing the diff breather tube was clogged

When you installed the new axle seal did you apply a liberal amount of axle grease or gear oil on the seal itself? If you don't I was told that after a few rotations of the axle with it being dry it might damage the seal. You might have to replace it again!

Read through this procedure D44 Axle Shaft Removal and Overhaul - 1 and see if it is something you want to tackle. You may want to have a shop do this if you don't have access to a decent press...
