If you don't know the answer to that you haven't done your research. If you haven't done you research you aren't even close to being prepared to do your own gears.

Short answer is no, you need the gears, a master install kit, and all the associated tools.also the think you posted in the OP only comes with mini install kits. I would get a master install kit with all new bearings.

I have every tool I'll ever need. And isn't the install kit included in original picture with the gears?

So you have a dial indicator with magnetic base? BEAM STYLE in/lb torque wrench? 12 ton press? Any idea what any of these tools are used for?

Again, there is a difference between a MINI and MASTER install kit.

As long as you have the time, and youre patient and you have access to a nice shop press micrometer, dial indicator and a beam torque wrench you can do your own gear install. I helped do mine on an ARB, and a friend of mine has done his by himself as well.

Just take your time, be patient and check and recheck everything 4 times. A gear install is tedious because you will have to check and recheck backlash and gear engagement which isnt hard, but time consuming and tedious. If youre not comfortable at all in doing it, pay someone to do it. Some people make it sound like God himself created the R&P.

Lol in fact I do. And an in ground lift. But thanks for your attitude. Don't need to be an asshole. I'm just trying to get a feel for what I need parts wise to get this done.

Lol agreed. At least everyone on this thread think its damn near impossible. I've rebuilt a transmission, I think a R&P wouldn't be too far off . With time and money and a tools you can do anything.

Before you start getting high and mighty you should know I've done ring and pinion installs before. No it's not as hard as some people make it out to be, but 99% of people who come here and ask think it a simple bolt on bolt off without knowing any of the work or tools required.
