LED light for automatic console

Hey folks

I suppose it has been talked about here before but it is a pain in the arse to sift through 100,000 posts to find it. I did the dash light conversion to blue led lights from superbrightleds and i would like to make the automatic shifter console blue. What number led bulb do I need? The console is green now but the bulb looks clear so will a blue bulb still make it blue? Also what about the courtesy lights under the dash and the two on the overhead sound bar. Does anyone have numbers for them?

The blue lights in the dash are bitchin! I love them.

Tyler

A 194/T10/168 bulb works (the same for the courtesy). There is an aqua tinted sheet under the numbers. Even with a blue led it's going to look greenish. I got some needle nose pliers on it and pulled it out in a few pieces. Then the top is clear. I had to paint the top of the bulb (4 led top) black because it was shining directly in my eyes.

Neil you are saying I need to pull the aqua cover off and then paint the top of the blue led? Does it have the same blue tint as the dash then? Also is the number you gave me for the courtesy the same as the overhead lights?

Thanks Neil

Yes paint the top of the bulb in the shifter. For the dash the stock bulbs have a blue condom. Just use the blue led. I forget what the overhead bulb is called.
