Smile LED Lights? Opinions and Suggestions

A lot of people think LED light bars are a huge waste of money.. but lets be honest If they were cheaper we'd all have them. They look cool and provide tons of light.
Share any opinions and experiences below
I'd also like to know if any of you have found cheap off-brand LED's that work just as well.
All threads are better with pictures too so post them if you got them

No experience, but if they were cheaper, I'd have one myself.

If they weren't 300+ all the way up to 2k I'd have them for sure!

I have the bulldog 50 inch bar across the front window pillars. The thing is brighter than ever. It's expensive but I have a friend whose truck is sponsered by bulldog so he got me a killer deal on the price. But if you want to get a big bar look at black box logistics. They have some quality products and they are decently priced. I have a smaller bar and squares on the way in the mail from them.

Black Box Logistics - Innovated Solutions

and

Bulldog Lighting | Off Road LED Lighting | Truck Accessories

Bulldog got bought out by KC lights and they go by Bulldog lighting or KC Bones.

Jeep is in the shop getting a new rear end, I will try to get some pictures up when I get it back next week.

That pretty much sums it up. I'll stick with my daylighters until the price comes down another 2x. The price of LEDs has been dropping fast. This guy did a DIY write up if you are handy.

Why go through all that work when Black Box has the same light but has 6 LEDs instead of 5, for about $110?

It'd be awesome if I could do that but he's right. That's a lot of work. Kinda rather work a few extra hours on my pay check than go through the hassle.

I run rigid lighting and have been extremely impressed with their products. You can't look directlt at the duallys in day light because they are just too bright at 1300 lumens. They don't overheat, come with a full wiring harness that requires no splicing, are warrantied against anything but military grade ammunition, draw less power than a blinker and you can put them just about anywhere.

If only rigid weren't thousands of dollars, I'm looking for cheap haha

Here at O'Hare, City Operations has a couple of Ford Escapes set up with LED light bars for runway inspections. They put out a ton of light! But on that note, I'll be waiting a while for the price to drop to an affordable amount.

I paid 189 a pair for my duallys. The 50 inch bar is 1500, and I just see no practical application for that light other than the cool factor.

I think I'm gunna Jump on the black box lights pretty soon. They'll be like third on my expensive list for summer.
1st - metal cloak flares
2nd - gen right hood louvers
3rd - those black box LED lights

So your saying that $110 is too much for 2400lm of extra lighting on your jeep? Most halogen lights run that much for a pair and all the wiring and mounts for them.

Yeah the only reason I got my 50 is because I can get a killer deal on them and it adds a nicer look to my jeep. But if I couldn't get a deal on them I would go for a 30 or maybe a 20 and go with Black Box. Half the price.

Haha that's great. I goto to school at Davis and it's 20 minutes away from MetalCloak. But I have figured out that's not always good because I never have any money left after making that 20 minute drive...

I messaged them about trying to get them on this forum as a Vendor so people can realize that LEDs aren't always super expensive and hoping that they can sponsor my jeep or atleast a couple stickers from them
