Let's play... where's my thermostat?

Purchased the jeep a few weeks ago and the temp has been weird, heater has been cold too.

Went and got a new thermostat, thinking mind was stuck open. Well, was sort of right.

Why would someone do this?

Because they are not knowledgeable on the ill effects of it. Make sure you got a 195 degree Tstat and if it don't have the little bleeder hole drill a 1/8 hole at the top.

I got the 195 and I will have to put a hole in it.

Just wondering if they did it cause it was overheating.

Who knows?!?! people do some of the damndest things! LOL You will soon find out I guess. If that is the case let us help you figure it out before you do the same thing. I would bet that the old one failed and they just gutted it to avoid spending the roughly $8 to fix it.
