I don't trust Smittybilt, but then again I don't trust ANY company to do anything right. That said, I don't have the skills or the tools to do it myself so I went with Smittybilt anyways cause I'm not spending 800 bucks to put a cool bumper on my jeep. It's a jeep people, not a sports car :P At anyrate, I got the XRC stinger. This thing is solid, I'll bet you it would hold it's own on the trail, I'm not worried about it. It's heavy as sh*t! Well here's the pic!

It was in my budget range and it's cheap good steel. Gonna put a winch on soon I hope, but for that I might be going with the low end warn winches! eh we'll see

It's on a yj but i would have built it the same on a tj. I may add a "stinger" of some sort later IF I get a winch.

All 1/4" except for the top plate, all grade 8 hardware, custom 1/4" mounts welded to the frame, bolt holes sleeved, 3/4" plate d ring loops welded from the rear and on the outside.

I don't think it's going anywhere. Very simple but works for me.

Cut bumper half inch wider than frame, relocate lights, put on new hooks and finish cut edges with door edge guard. Done. Cost around $40 including door edge, towing hooks and cutting disc and black paint to refresh overall condition and look.

This with new fender flairs...
Now you just need to get rid of those chrome circles around your head lights...

You gotta cut the holes. The ONLY holes pre drilled are the ones for mounting it to the jeep. They will not supply you with the bolts (if I recall correctly) but we just used the ones that came with our factory tow hooks. The hooks will go where to holes are to bolt the bumper on. The lights I didn't drill myself, I had the stealership do it cause of course we broke our original lights putting this on lol. I just had them deal with the wiring and placement.

I wanted something strong, but not over the top in design.... I made this one.

.120 wall 2x6 metal
a little cut, grind and weld...

1" solid steel tow points with 7/8" eyelets

And finished off with Plasti-Dip!

Nice! I love how simple it is but yet still strong! I'll take one

Another warn here. Got a good deal on craigslist and the seller kept throwing in more stuff just to get it out of his garage.

How do you like it? I want the Warn but I gotta make sure it's my final choice, I already wasted money on a tube bumper

I'm very happy with it. I'm even happier that I got it on the cheap.

Its solid. Although I haven't given it too much of a workout. But it has protected the Jeep from a few run ins with my raised flower bed made out of railroad ties.
