Yeah depends on condition and where you live. I spent 5000 on a 2000 tj sport with 80000 miles in pretty good condition just rusty fender and needed a new fuel pump which the guy hid from us. The guy wanted 7500 for it but was not worth that much considering the little things. The best way to find out if it was a good price is to check kbb.com

Book value at the time was $8000
My brother in law only wanted a downpayment for a new truck, dealership asked him for $2500 down.....I didn't wanna rip him too bad or make a sucker outta him so I gave him $4000
I bought a 1997 TJ 4 cyl 5 speed with 168,000 miles..
I paid $3100, is that good or bad ?
what did you pay for your jeep ?
That's a good deal. Bought my 97 TJ, 4cyl, 5spd for $2500 plus fees, $2700 total. Needed seat upholstry and replacement top. Got those from CL for a couple hundred. Had a running, driving complete TJ for $3000.
Then I cut it all apart, and dropped a V8, Atlas, D60s... Now I'm in it $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
Just bought my 2002 T'J, 4.0 engine, auto tranny, no run, very good condition, 170,000 miles, $7500 +ttl. I'm suspecting many of the miles were tow miles due to the shape of the interior, brake pedal, steering wheel, etc.
I paid 10K out the door for my 2003 X with 74000miles last week. That was almost trade in value. I haven't found anything wrong with it but the dash rattles on bumpy roads. That and the half door window is craked.
1997 TJ 4cyl auto...bone stock. Bought from a teacher. $3000 bought for my wife to drive as a dd[IMG][/IMG]
She can't drive standard.
1995 Rio Grande...$3500, but was wrecked. Rebuilt with about $5000 in all. No rust at all.[IMG][/IMG]
1972 CJ5 with original 304 V8....$2000...but I've put alot of "play money" into it...lol...[IMG][/IMG]
I bought a one owner 99 with 239k, 4 cyl, A/C, and a rebuilt motor for 2k. It runs great and the body and top are in good condition, but the interior needed help. I've been lurking here for the past month learning how to fix the issues it had, and I wouldn't take less than 4k for it today. But my wife would kill me if I tried to sell it.
The day i brought it home a month ago is a 2000 solar yellow 4.0 sport 5 speed and it came with full doors a 2"BB, teraflex rocker guards, JKS quick disconnects, K&N air intake, pro comp front bumper, 31x10.5 that need to be replaced on black american racing wheels D44 rear and it had 103k miles. i paid $9900 and the jeep is in good condition!
