I am a EMT and hubby is a firefighter. he won't put the low profile LED strobe in my Jeep which would look awsome( in stead it lives in my mini van). my brother in law has one mounted to the windshield and it is bright.

Most paid firefighters have all their lights on the truck. Most volunteers have them in their pov to get to the station. I miss those days, fighting a fully involved house or wastepaper company fire for hours, getting back to the station just to re-hose the truck and hang the wet hoses up to dry. Then wash the trucks, put them to bed, and the chief would open the candy and soda machine for our paycheck.

No lights or siren here. Honestly though, running code in a Jeep couldn't be much fun. My 03 does 0-60 in what, 3.5........ Minutes.

I am fire and rescue in Virginia. I have a red LED lightbar strapped to the main rollbar on my jeep so it is able to rotate up and down depending on if my top is on or not. I also have a white LED lightbar in my front windshield.

Lol, I was 17 and driving a VW bus with my plectron and teardrop on the dash to the station. Couldn't have been happier, and was almost always on the first out pumper.

Firefighter Jeep owner in Jax.

I am a fire fighter in Jacksonville Florida and just got back into the Jeep world. I love it and can't believe why I waited this long to get another one! Now the transformation begins!

I'm a "retired" assistant chief from a 39 man volunteer department. Didn't have a Jeep in those days, Ford Windstar plenty of room for gear, a blue rotating dash/roof light.

St. Clair PA still in service. Brush truck. I just registered to show y'all this.
I don't have lights on my POV they belong on the big trucks. They cause too many problems and distract people.

Sweet! What GPM is the pump? Do you have a tanker trailer available?

Back in my day, I was a member of a volunteer FD. Was even the Chief for a while. More recently I was on the management side of a fire protection district. I stayed away from the fire scenes mostly as I probably would have been a liability rather than an asset. Currently, about all I can do is perform IT services for the dept. I miss getting dirty, but I don't miss rolling hoses afterwards.

I'm with a lot of these guys, no lights here. We used to just drive straight to the scene and someone would always bring the truck. Hazard lights was it. I did have a siren and a set of strobes in all 4 corners when I lived in Louisville, ky. We found lights didn't really get us the any faster in the rural county. Maybe in the city atmosphere with traffic lights and heavy traffic.

Can't claim to be a fireman, but as a retired Deputy Sheriff, I can say I have the utmost respect for them. I worked hand in hand with them at many fires, traffic crashes, rescues, etc. If I had lived in a larger city or metro area, I would have most likely been a fireman before an officer. Where I live, all of the fire departments are volunteer and are not very busy, so no need for full-time staffing. Plus, I've always had a facination with fire trucks. They are just cool...

Firefighter (since 1976),past Chief, interim director of the county's J-Fire program. I have just a Whelen Dash Lighter in the Wrangler. I only use it to get past the Fire Police to get to the scene. Dash Laser in the Grand Cherokee. Again only use it to get past Fire Police.
By the way I only paid $15 each for the lights off Craig's List . So if you need one keep an eye out on Craig's list.

By the way neverfastenough1 it is strange to hear Plectron and Tear Drop. I remember those days well and the younger guys in our Department don't know what those are. :-)
