leveling kit for 06 TJ

Hi I'm new to the forum and i recently bought a 06 TJ and I was going to be putting a larger tire on the jeep and also a snow plow for next year. Would a 1 3/4 leveling kit be enough for what I want to do? I don't plan to put anything bigger than a 31 inch tire. Also How do you install a leveling kit? Do you need special tools? Thanks

Use AirLift airbags in the front coils for the plow. A spacer alone will not address your real issue, which is front spring rate being too soft for the weight of a plow. The airbags are a breeze to install and will only run you about $90 and an hour or so of your time to install.

For plowing, seriously consider a dedicated snow tire - Yokahama Geolander I/T have worked great for me for winter use - preferably in a "skinny 31" size - 245-75-16, for example. You can fit this size (or 31-10.50-15) just fine at stock height.

adding a spacer (or "leveling kit") doesn't help with the weight of a snowplow....you'd need to change the spring rate for that...so stiffer springs....junkyard ZJ V8 springs would probably be good, if you're looking to stay stock-ish....which will fit a 31" tire no problem.

Attachment 38366You can order a MONROE MA763 air shock. The only modification you have to do is bottom of the air shock is 2.5" spacing and the JEEP is 2 7/16 spacing do you'll have to elongate the mounting holes. I,m running 31 TAs. Look for a good plow keeping the weight down as UnlimitedLJ04 says. My blade is 400# and the mount is 50. It is stainless poly blabes you can't backdrag as well with. This is a 2005 and when I lift the blade my front end only goes down 1 1/2 inch without the air shocks. I have them too cold to put them on.Information tamonroetechline@tenneco.com $60.00
