Lift Consultation

I am trying to figure out how to best to spend my money on the proper lift.

I have a 2005 SE with 275/70/17 BFG all terrains on it. I also have a 1 inch wheel spacer/converter on it.

One issue I have right now is the wheels are rubbing in the front when I turn the steering wheel all the way. The back driver wheel also rubs against the wheel well and fender as I make quick turns right..

The car also seems to be tilted as only the driver side rubs and when I measured i found that the left side is 2 inches below the right side in the rear. The passenger side is lower in the front but only slightly.

Finally the car drifts right a bit and when I tried to align it, the shop said that he can't do much since the stock jeep does not have that many buttons to push..

I mostly drive the car in the city and thus priority is to fix the clearance and possibly the drifting issues. I go offroading once or twice a year with the kids and I would like to continue to be able to do that

What do you think my alternatives are? I am a bit constrained on budget and I would like to stay below 600 or 1000 at the most.

Thanks for your help

Essentially the 275/70/17 BFG is a 32.4" in overall diameter and that is why you are rubbing with stock suspension. So if you are going to keep that tire size you need to consider a lift. If were mine, I would put a Zone 4.25" Combo kit on it ($529), but if you don't want that high of a lift, I would go the route of a OME 2.5 kit.

For the rubbing issues, my guess is you either need new wheels or thicker wheel spacers. At least 1.25" or 1.5" spacers. Have you tried adjusting your steering stops?

For your rear tire rubbing, did you check your rear track bar? Is your rear axle centered under your Jeep?

How old are your tires? Have your rotated them to see if that helps the drifting? Have you had them balanced?

Thanks guys.. the tires are new and the truck has 37k miles on it only..

The 2.5 inch lift sounds great. Does the lift kit include everything I need?

I will look at the track bar but I am not sure what I am looking for. Is there a thread with more details?
