lift kit help!

i just installed a skyjacker 4 inch suspension lift (hydro 7000s) on a stock 2000 tj I6 4x4 and was wondering what i need to do to it... then after i do that, what else do i need to install a 2 inch spacer lift, 35s, and wheel spacers...

why would you add a 2 in space on that lift. your at the limits of the short arms at 4 inches. 35s will fit under a 4in lift with out cutting.

Yeah, I can probably fit 35's under my 4" suspension, but then I would only have about 2 inches or a little less between the tire and flare. I believe 33's are max recommended for only a 4 in lift.

i know a few people who run 35s+2inch spacer lift on a short arm, but is their anything i could do to the short arm to allow it to run 35s and the body lift? i have bushwacker flat flares by the way

Are you kidding me? 4" is PLENTY for 35's. There are no 'rules' to this game. If you really think that 33s are the 'max recommended tire size' for 4" springs, get out and look at a few serious rigs.

Did you ever take geometry and physics? Then you should be able to figure out why such tall springs on short arms with the stock mounts are such a poor idea. 4" springs + a 1" body lift is more than enough for 35's. Lose the dorky BW flares and replace them with some stock flares. That'll open back up your wheel wells.

No, I am not kidding you. Every manufacturer that I checked recommends cutting or BL on top of 4" lift to use 35's. The vehicle above has a 4" lift and a 1" BL with 35's. Has about the same clearance as my 33's. How do you figure he will get more clearance with stock flares? As a matter of fact, he doesn't even need a BL with the BW's because they add over 2 inches of clearance over stock flares. Serious rigs with 35's? I am sure you can fit 35's on a 4" lift just fine for a mall crawler that never needs to flex. All the JK's around here have 35's, and I don't consider them serious rigs. However, you are right. The more serious rigs with tube fenders or the like can get away with 35's or 37's with little lift. It would be different if it were a LA lift that saved his wheelbase.

Clayton 4in lift with 35s more then enough up travel to flex.



also limited up travel dose not equal limited flex. I set most of the stuff I've built around 3 inches of up travel and as much down as I can get.

Thats with stock flares and no other modifications, its just a base info to feed to everyone that doesnt think outside of the word "lift kit"

Trucks get lift kits, a Jeep for trail usage needs a properly tuned suspension.
