Question Lift kits

New jeep owner and new to forum. Jeep currently has stock 15 inch steel wheels. Its a 4 banger so I only want to go to 31 inch wheels. Currently no lift kit. I have 4 - Cherokee alloy rims 16X7 - 5 inches of back space. I measured the stock wheels and they have 6 inches of backspace. I put a 265/70r16 tire on one of the rims and everything clears but it is only .5 clearance to the inside between tire and inside sway bar. I am looking at the Rough Country 2.5 lift that is just springs and shocks. I was also looking at the Zone 3" lift. Some suggested using one of the spacer lift kits since this vehicle will do very little off roading or climbing.

Looking for guidance on lift kits and anyone that has used the grand cherokee wheels on a Wrangler. Thanks for your time.

In reference to the lift kit question, I would take some time and utilize the search function in the TJ Forum. Your question gets asked a lot on here and there are so many threads about lifts. This is what was recommended to me when I first got on here.

Once you narrow it down to one lift or the other, or a specific lift kit question then re-post. But for now since u r at the beginning stages of looking into lifts then try the search function.

Good luck.

Thanks, I have been reading some of the threads but they seem to be all over. The 2.5 rough country list is my first choice but a guy has a zone 3" lift with no shocks that works on my jeep but the thought of lower the transfer case does not sit well. I want a little suspension lift with the least mods to drive train. I am actually more curious about anyone using the Grand Cherokee wheels on a Wrangler with 26570r16's. Thanks and I will keep digging thru the forums.

I have the 2.5 rough country with 3/4 spacer in front(compensating for winch). The shocks that came with it suck arse. Put 5100 bilsteins on in and night and day difference.

Thanks, I can order the springs without shocks so that helps. Springs for 200 and shocks for 347. Not to bad. I think I am going to start another thread about the wheels. Not getting any hits on that part.

Thanks again.
