Post Lift Kits Opinions and Options

I recently purchased a 1997 Jeep Wrangler Sahara and I was looking to slowly build it up here and there. Well I've come to the point that now I'm thinking about putting a lift kit on it.

What I'm looking for in a lift kit:
-I'm not looking for anything major, just maybe a 2" max so I can just ran some larger tires
-Not looking to do any real major off-roading....yet haha

- I would just like to know, if anyone wouldn't mind sharing. If they had any ideas on brands, sellers, prices, etc. and what they think about putting on the lift kit( ie. difficult or not), also for that height adjustment, would a transfer case lowering kit be necessary as well as anything else.

Appreciate any responses!!

Thnx,
Brad

Make sure you ponder long enough to make sure you only want two inches, most jeepers always want it higher after they install any lift..., hell i wish i had an 8 inch lift. anywhoo for a 2 inch lift you will not need a TC drop kit, check out the thread titled TJ Lift reviews here on this forum.

I would go with a 2.5" OME lift. That will give you a better ride on and off the road.

If you want it cheap, a 2" budget boost would be ok. But it doesn´t improve the ride quality.

for starters, welcome to the forum. Keep in mind, you'll always want more. The day I lifted mine, I passed another Jeep with a bigger lift and got disappointed in mine. Now i find myself parking next to stock Jeeps and saying, man I wish I went taller. Its all in the budget.

I replaced an Older set of OME springs with a set of the new 2.5" Rough Country progressive rate spings which by the way came with a TC drop . They ride as close to stock as any OME i have had or ridden in . I still use the nitrochargers that were on it before I switched springs . The springs w/TC drop was only like 199.00 on Ebay or for a little more you can get RC new shocks I think they call them 2.2 that were designed to compliment these springs . I used the nitrochargers just so that if their was anything different in the ride it was the springs . Now these have only been on for a few months so they are still new and every bit as nice riding as OME .

X2 on the Rough Country 2.5" suspen lift. I put one on mine for $300 and for another $80 added a 2" body lift. 33s fit great. Check it out in one of my previous posts. Lots of fun and gets all kinds of looks from everybody.

x2.. with better shocks and some front discos, you'll be able to run 32s and flex decently well on trails..

add a bodylift/mml and go up to 33s if you want

I'll throw a wrench in here, no pun intended. I'm very happy with the OME 2.5 and JKS MML and BL. However, I kinda wish I would have looked into a highline fender/hood/ trim rear wheel well set up to gain the clearance for 33s. You'd have no drivetrain issues and low COG.
