Lift Questions

I am debating on a lift for my Jeep. Right now I have 1" BL with a 2" BB. I have debated about going just to a 4" spring and keep the 1" BL. Two options:

4" suspension only with the 1" Body lift. Tummy tuck

3" suspension only with the 1' Body lift. Tummy Tuck

I want to run 33 once my 31s wear out and I did not think that I will ever go the 35" route at least not now. I want to keep the cost low. What stock parts can be used to keep the bill down? 2000 TJ auto with stock rims and spacers.

If you have 5" lift you have to do an SYE and all that other stuff that I have no clue about You don't need that much lift for 33's, and while I recall you mentioned going to a 33x10.5 in another thread, make sure you can find the tire you want in that size before you plan your build around them. They aren't an abundant size. 3" lift + your body lift will clear 33's easy, but you'll still have the SYE and stuff to do.

Yep you remember correctly I want to run 33s. I have priced out the tires and the 10.5 are available locally. Time to price out more options for the Jeep.

33's are fit in 2 common ways:

1. 4" suspension lift with 2" front bumpstop extension and ~2.5" rear bumpstop extension
2. 2.5" lift + 1.25" body lift, with 1" front bumpstop extension and ~1.5" rear bumpstop extension.

Alternatively, you could add 2" of lift alone, with 2" front and rear bumpstop extension, but you don't gain much uptravel over stock. Gaining uptravel is half the point of a lift, but if you don't take it off-road, maybe you're ok with that.

if you don't want to destroy your tires, you'll need some method to reduce the backspacing. this is most commonly done by new wheels, with 3.75-4.25" of backspacing, or 1.25" Spidertrax wheel spacers.
