Well I made the leap of faith and ordered my parts. Despite alot of advice saying go 33's.....I decided on 32's. Here's what I'm getting

2" spacer lift
Rancho 9000x adjustables
32x11.5 Procomp All terrains
15x8 Black Rock Crawlers with the d-slots
32 tooth speedo gear

That should do it for now, oh and I ordered the install accessories to put my Kenwood stereo in and some new Infinity speakers to replace the stockers in the dash and soundbar.

I'm sure the new gears and bumpers and exhaust and everything else will be coming soon enough. But I've only had this less than a month and already spent 1200 bucks....gonna have to wait a little while to get other stuff or the wife will kill me. At least with what I've got on order, it'll look sweet and be a little more capable offroad. The adjustables should be nice too

DocG2828, I am in the same boat as you. I’m looking at going with a similar setup w/ the 2” BB and 32s. After reading several threads, I’m afraid that 3” or 4” lift with 33s would cost twice as much in the end.

do a 2" BB and a 2" BL, then 33s will fit. that doesn´t cost very much.
now i have 32s with this set-up (picture). my next tires will be 33s.

I'm thinking about it. As soon as I put on 32s, I'll wish I had 33s.

that looks like a great price is it for my 00 TJ 4.0 5 speed?
http://www.absoluteoffroadphx.com/se...2C-slip/Detail

As the lift goes i'll probably now go with 3" and 2" bl.. and 33s.. higher gears are also on my list.

this SYE kit is for the NP231 transfer case. you need an additional CV driveshaft.

5" (3" + 2" BL) is a bit much for 33s i think. with that lift (and extended bumstops) some 35s will fit.

here´s a site where you can simulate how your TJ will look like with different tires/lifts.

That's a cool link. Now I really want the 4" with 33s. Maybe I can sell some blood to pay for it. I'm sure I'm good for 5 or 6 quarts.

i did the 4" lift with a 2" BB (200-250$) and a 2" BL (100-150$).
that gives me enough space for 33s and makes no driveline problems. and it was easy to install.

Well first of all ill be running that with stocks for a while until i make enough for tires I wanna get the lifts done over the summer since the tires take 10 minutes to install

I've never seen 34s is there such thing?

Would u look at that i can fit 35s with only 1" lift

you want to install 5" lift with stock tires? that will look very ugly.
why don´t you do everything at the same time? installing a 3" suspension will take 4-5 hours, my BL took 3 hours.
you could do everything on one day at the weekend.

there are 34x10.5x15, 34x11.5x15, 34x10.5x16 (all three simex jungle trekker), 34x11.5x16 and 34x14.5x16 (both mickey thompson baja belted) available.

Here in chicago it gets way to cold to do work. I'm preatty sure you wouldnt want to work on ur rig outside when its all really windy at 30-40F or 0-5C. I wouldnt really care if i have to drive on the stock rubber for a month or two as long as i'm up higher than every 1 else

Thanks all for the 34s info.. i've never seen any info on it such as gears and stuff...

ProComp 33x12.50 Xterrains and 3.73 gears were ok only for a short while. I went to 4.56 gearing and am much more satisfied.

I found this link for a gear ratio guide for larger tires.

http://www.discountjeepparts.com/cat...info/ratio.htm

To keep stock performance with 33s, you'll need a 4.56 gear ratio.

I'm a bit confused though. Let say you put 33s on and you change the differential gears to 4.56. Will your speedometer still be correct or do you need to change the gear on that too? The driveshaft should still spin same speed as before with the stock tires and stock gears right, so the speedo should be correct?

good question.
now i have 32s with 3.07 gears. the speedo is modified for that.
what do i have to change after installing the 4.56 gears?
i want to put on some 33s later.

you'll want better than stock performance because of the added weight of the tires...

when you regear you'll still have to get the correct speedo gear...you'll have to look at a chart and find the one you need for your gear and tire size...if you have the stock one and regear you'll still be off
