I have an 04 Jeep TJ and I want to lift her 2". I contacted 4 Wheel Parts in OKC and they quoted me $900 for the lift, labor, and front alignment. Is this reasonable? I called around Lawton and I haven't found anybody who sounds confident they can complete the task. I have installed leveling kits before and I have no doubt I can install an easy 2" lift, but I work crazy hours and I don't have the time. Does anybody know of a good reliable Jeep mechanic in Lawton?
Only way to "align" or do and alignment on the rear is with adjustable tracbar to center the axle. or adjustable control arms to set the pinion angle. Both of which you will not need with a 2'' on a TJ.
There are also no steering linkage to adjust on a rear axle. Cant set the toe or camber on it.
Thanks good info..prob a stupid question but it's not gonna hurt if you lifted it and then drove it to the shop to get aligned right? You will only start having issues if your driving all over without getting it aligned right?
They recommended the Pro Comp 2" lift. It comes with springs and shocks (cheap shocks) for over $400. I figure $400 for labor and $75 for the alignment. They told me the transfer case didn't need dropped with a 2" lift too. I'm no expert, but I thought any thing over 1.5" required the transfer case dropped.
I'll check with I35 motorsports, or wait a couple months when I have more time. Rubicon Express has a 2" lift with spacers and 4 shocks for a little over $200. I may go that route.
