I ran a 4" Suspension with a 1" Body Lift and 33s for a while. I liked it, drove great. Not top heavy at all, though, you have to drive it with common sense. Rough Country makes a 4" Kit for $499.

First pic is the 4" kit with 1"bl with 33s, 2nd pic is 2" lift with 1" bl and 33s.

Make sure you've got enough money saved up for an SYE and a new driveshaft just incase you get vibrations after the tcase drop.

if your getting a 33x 12.5 tire then i think its easy to say the width of the tires would more then compensate for the height.

and i think that almost everyone can say that unless youre driving completely out of control then youll never have to worry

bl (body lifts) are what you should be worried about. bl bigger than 1" makes the car top heavy and are more prone to roll over but a normal 4" suspension lift you will have some fun.

No it will make the center of gravity taller, but not top heavy. Just did the same thing on my 2002 TJ sport.

You don't necessarily need a 4" suspension lift in order to run 33" tires. Myself and plenty other people run a 2.5" suspension kit and a 1-1.25" body lift, bumpstop it correctly and you're good to go.

97 TJ Sport. 2.5-3" lift (bought Rancho lift designed for hardtop so it's more like even 3.5" in the summer with no top or just safari top on). JKS 1.25" BL and 1" MML to get rid myself of the TC drop. I and my wife feel that it's more stable now than when it was stock. Only problem is the wind. Really feel it with the hardtop on. I drive it the same way I drive the 06 Durango around corners and such. Feels real solid. Let your Dad read these posts. With all the stories out there about vehicles tipping over you can understand his concern but I think we all can win him over.
