Light Bar Strength

Will a light bar be able to handle the weight of a 85 pound canoe if used as a rack?

i would use thick zip ties, worm clamps. anything but tape, and put a 2x4 to it, then lay the canoe on it. i wanted to weld some metal to one and mount a 48" emergency light bar to it. if it hold up, lmk.

As mentioned above, I would secure a 2x4 or maybe 4x4 (depending on how high the light bar is) to the top of the windshield frame and set the canoe on that. You sure wouldn't want to bend or dent the light bar

The reason why I'm asking is I want to buy a light bar that I can use to hold lights and support my canoe. I guess I should just wait and save for a rack.
