LJ - 50,000 miles... now what?

I have an 06 LJ that is basically stock with some 31" BFG-AT's. I have done the regular oil changes and tire rotations and changed the spark plugs (at 30K i think).

Am i missing anything? I feel like maybe brakes would be coming up but i havent noticed any fading, squeaking, or heard anything that would indicate my pads are worn down. I bought the jeep with 8500 so I assume it's on its original brake pads.

Additionally does anyone have any recomendations on bikini tops? I had a best top bikini top with its own header (which was crappy and a pain to put on) but one of the straps broke clean off - i think from sun fading. It's top down time now that the fall is sort of starting in Texas but I'd like a little shade on my commute home. Living life with a constant sunburned face is a little annoying/embarassing/dangerous. I've heard mention of ones that you can leave on even when your top is up, but couldnt re-find those old threads I read.

thanks in advance for any input.

I appreciate the feedback

I don't think you should be worried about your brakes yet, although it's real easy to check them (visual) by taking off your tire. If you have an automatic then you could consider changing the oil in it and the transfer case. That may be a little premature unless you have done some towing with it.

Home Made Bikini Top Topic

Cheap way to make your own bikini top. Use some carpet glue/tape and it makes for a real easy project. Also stays on underneath your normal top. You might consider also making a windbreaker that goes right behind the front seats... although, that's more of an issue if you have longer hair. Most guys won't be bothered by wind whipping around them.

We just bought our '06 LJ Rubi with 62k miles on it. PO basically abused the poor thing. It was not babied, so I'm sure they didn't even bother with regular maintenance. Yet, the brakes are still good. Everything on it is mechanically sound, except a trackbar bushing that needs replacing. That's it. Your 50k miles is a barely-used Jeep. Just keep up your regular maintenance and keep an eye on it for any changes. I wouldn't worry much. You'll get used to the idea that your LJ is gonna last you a long, long time.

50,000 is it even broken in yet?

I did my brakes at 180,000 and that was because I had a rear cylinder leak. 25,000 later I had a front caliper sieze up.

The brakes on your jeep, especially if it has a manual transmission will last long long time.

After that, a Jeep is just like a car. Change your oil at regular intervals, change gear oil if you have been in water, if she has an automatic that should also be serviced regurlarly, I prefer to have the pan dropped, cleaned, and converter and cooiling drained at the same time.
