I'm with him^ LJ's are sweet. I'd trade my modified Jeep for a stock LJ and rebuild just because they are sweet.

LJ's rock, too bad they don't make them anymore,if you can find them cheap I suggest you pick them up. They are not CHEAP at all around here, everybody knows they are rare and highly sought.

well i guess theyre not so unpopular

by cheap I mean cheaper then im seeing stocks tjs , i like everything bout the lj but the look of it . 44 in rear. more cargo space awesome but doesnt look imo good as a tj. I would probably buy one if i can get over the looks

Im wondering because ive been watching jeeps for months now and the few LJs ive seen arent selling even at relatively good prices

11900 agood starting price for an 06LJ? 6spd 35k miles

LJs are kind of like the Ugly Duckling to me. They look goofy as hell when they're stock, but beautiful as hell once modified. I'd take one, no problem!

Actually 11,900 is a pretty good price for an TJ Unlimited (I don't like the term LJ) with low mileage, but I wouldn't sell mine for twice that.

Used Jeeps seem to be hard to come by here in Ontario, Canada. When I decided I wanted a Jeep I spent 2 whole days driving form city to city, town to town looking for one and all the ones that had been for sale were sold.
I came across a 05 LJ in great shape at a good price in a small town and snapped it up.
I agree the shorter Jeeps look cooler, but the extra space is great when going camping.
Mines still bone stock, taking my time deciding what I want to do with it, i don't want to rush and end up making it look like crap

That's a darn good price for only 35K miles. I love mine and will hopefully have it built up like I want one of these days. They ride so much better on the road for being only 10 inches longer. I got a busted hard top and cut it in half. Fabbing a barrier to close off the lower half behind the seats, and having a canvas back with a window made to close in the cab. Spray in bed-liner. Fold-down tailgate kit. Gonna be like a Scrambler when I'm done.

They're ugly. I know they go for 20-30% less than comparable TJs here...

What do you find "ugly" about them? Just curious.

I don't like the way they look. They look stretched.

I really wanted to talk myself into getting one, since I was looking to buy an 06 and could have saved about $2000 while getting the extra space...but couldn't get over the stretched look.

They run about the same here - but that "stretched look" is exactly what I love about it.

I always loved the CJ-8. To me - this is just the modern version.

Hey man-- to each his own. I don't have a problem with anyone that likes it, it's just not the car for me. At least it's still a Jeep!

I cant believe the people here saying the LJ is ugly. Pesonally I'd kill to get my hands on one of them. And they look realll nice with a frameless soft top. Plus its got the dana 44's and a loner wheel base and more usable space I dont see the down side to them.

So were you "just curious" or looking to start a fight? Besides, I said it looks stretched, not that it is huge...adding length to the car without adding anything else makes it look unbalanced...

Like I said, I'm not interested in arguing...I don't like the looks, and that's my prerogative. If you like it, more power to you. This argument has been hashed out hundreds of times on this forum. You don't need to prove to me that you are happy with your purchase.
If you like the looks, you can get more Jeep for less money, and it's hard to argue with that.

I like them both. I would take the extra 10 inches in a heartbeat plus they come with the additional goodies like 44's. Make it a Ruby too so you can get all the goods.
