locking hood latches

Anyone using the locking hood latches on the sides of their hood? I'm wanting to know if the latch parts actually locks to the part on the hood so that even if you flexed the hood a bit or a lot they could not be seperated because they are locked together. I have a lexan hood and their is enough bowing that it pops the latches.

Thanks.

I've seen a few rock buggies with them - and they seem to work pretty well.

I used them for a while. The black powder coated ones. The fender has a "stem" that exends up from it, and the actualy keyed latch is on the hood itself. The latch closes over the stem and locks onto it. I took mine off about 2 months after installing them because after being fender deep in mud, the key will no longer go into the hole. And takes half a can of wd-40 to get them working again. *sigh* Great for security, i just with they were mud proof :/
