Locking wheels in 4wd

Not lockers haha.

I was driving around today on some snowy roads and i had to stop and the front wheels locked up (which im used to) but i was thinking that if im in gear and 4wd and the front wheels lock completely is this bad for the t-case?

Yeah but like the back wheels dont lock up as easily as the front do, i figured that would be a problem is one pair spins and the other doesnt while in 4wd.

If you're in 4wd and your fronts lock but your rears won't, they'll stop moving when the fronts lock.

Oh alright that would make sense, i always hear a sort of bang when i lock my front wheels in 4wd that's probably the t case making the back wheels lock up too.

Make sure to keep it in 2wd if there is much pavement showing. The Wrangler's part-time 4x4 system is meant for use only on low traction roads like dirt, sand, or totally covered with snow or ice. It's not even meant for or a good idea to use 4x4 on roads that are simply wet from rain.

Yup, i only use it when 2wd isnt good enough. Never used it in the rain but when the roads get snowy ill put it on.
