Looking at buying a Wrangler

Hi guys,

I new to the Wranglers and I was wondering if there is anything I should keep my eye out for when I go to look at a this jeep.

It is a 97 6 cyl Automatic with 4 wheel, 141k on the motor. He is asking 5,500. Here are a few pics.

Welcome to The Furom!
You're going to get a bunch of great information from the people on this thread.
I'm pretty new to Jeeps myself ( 1 month as of this past Friday).
I would suggest checking under the carpet around the back corners, and up front, to make sure there isn't any major rust.

I'd also want some history on that tweaked front bumper - car wreck, bad parallel parking, big rock? Since there's damage to the left front area, I'd be very cautious and inspect the steering carefully; might even run it into a tire shop and have them give it a once-over to check for damage.

" ... Nobody said it was a good plan. It's like somebody went through an actual strategy and replaced every instance of the word 'tactical' with 'balls out.' ... "

looks like a california plate so if its been there most of its life rust shouldnt be a big problem. ask about the front bumper, the stock ones are pretty much aluminum foil so it doesnt take much to bend them, and it doesnt look to bad so theres probably no real damage to the front end. take it to a dirt road and test out 4hi and 4lo to make sure it works and shifts fine. its a 4.0 so thats a bonus. it looks like a really nice jeep
I bet pulp fiction wasn't the first time Bruce Willis had a ball gag in his mouth.
