Thats cool. Find someone you know does good work and you can have pretty much anything you want built. Its great to know how to do that stuff. It sure has saved me a heck of a lot of money. Its nice to be meet in person too to see your creation get built. By the way, where in Michigan are you at ook?

I loved the ARB bumper untill I actually saw it on the street, It was too big and too much for me + the shipping would have had to get it crated cause of the weight.... I ended up getting the body armor one ...its not too much and the shipping wasent redic. imo

Edit:my tires look weird dont they?

I'm thinking of pulling the trigger on a Rokmen Mercenary front bumper for my '01 TJ. (http://www.rokmen.com/products/tj_lj...nt_bumper.html) Only issue is it's shipped bare steel so I'll have to prep and paint it.

yo grntj, im still waiting on those pics of the stock bumper made to look wicked cool, i think im gonna use the stock bumper, cut it at an angle add light tabs, d ring shackles, and a light hoop, as well as a hoop around the grill that ties into the frame and then into the tube fenders, i think it will look pretty awesome without having to fab up all the brackets and then the bumper itself

I would love to keep my stock bumper if there is a way to weld the tabs to mount d-shackles to the front of it.

no. The front bumper is 1/8" steel and shouldn't be used for recovery. Your best solution is to run the hooks that bolt through the frame.

Time frame hasn't changed on the front bumper. If you are asking who made my rear bumper then I did.

I appoligize on my pics. I have been working a lot lately so I ahve had little time to work on the bumper. The reason Im doing all this to my stock bumper is because I also have a winch plate mounted on top of it. So my stinger is being welded onto that, then it will have supports going to the bumper itself. Yesterday I got the stinger on but I stood back and looked at it and didnt like how long I had made it. Luckly I tacked it first. So Im going to pull it off grind the welds down and cut her a bit shorter. Then I almost finished my steering skid that will bolt to the whole stock bumper thing as well. Should have some pics for you guys in 2-3 days.

If u have the capabilities and facilities to do some welding, fab'n u can use the oem bumper and added mild plate steel 3/16" - 1/4" in the areas needed. As for the recovery D-shackels, youll want to keep them closest to the frame and have a reinforcement 1/4' plate welded inside the bumper and tied to the frame as Cliffor stated. The 1/8" bumper can be made to function really well, but not without alott of thought, welding, gussets, trig and some prays....jmho

The Jeeperman Stubby front bumper can be had for $200 on 4x4rockshop. 1/4" thick= beefy front bumper. I like this one just as much as the DPG one...
