Well, if it's looks then, save yourself a bunch of money, mask the area off that you want to hide so it 'LOOKS' like a bra is on it. Sand it with 220 or 240 grit, and then follow up with some four-ought (four zero's 0000) steel wool, and then spray some paint on it. Do about four or five coats. If you gonna just cover it up until you can do it right. Paint it youself. That way you aren't dropping 55 bucks for something you aren't ever gonna use again.

How does the rest of the Jeep look? What color is it now?

P.S. You could remove the hood, and set it all up to be painted while it's off the vehicle, that way you don't have to worry about over spray getting on the rest of the vehicle.

it is dark blue. the rest of the paint is fine. just the hood is like that. perhaps i will just hold off and take the jeep to a local bodyshop ive used before and get a qoute. i dont even pick up the jeep for a week still. they might even be able to give me a qoute over the phone since they would be sanding the whole thing down and repainting it all - no body work or having to worry about making match another part of the hood.

That may actually not be a bad idea. You might be able to have them remove the hood, and work on it while you still use it for transportation. That's what I did when I dented my hood trying to push a boat (yes I said boat) off of a trail back in the woods (post hurricane Ivan). Damn boat didn't budge, and the top front of my hood got dinged in two places. (it was a 22 foot power boat all beat to crap). Anyway, I took off the hood at the body shop, and drove it for 4 days while they worked on it.

P.S. Went back to that boat with a tow strap, and drug that thing out of the way. HOOAHH!
