Yep, mine's gone wayside one too many times and now I've done it for sure. I need a new bumper but not sure who you all would recommend. My jeep is a 2000 TJ. I'm looking at a body armor front bumper but don't know a lot about them. The one from them I'm look at is this one: Xtreme TrailGear 59" Front Bumper with 2" Center & 1.5" Hood & Light Guard Hoops by Body Armor and Other Jeep Parts and Jeep Accessories by 4 Wheel Drive Hardware-RH3. Do you think this would be a good somewhat basic front bumper that you would all recommend? Or which other manufacturer would you all go for? I'm wanting to keep it under $500 but one that will last and be durable. I've also heard that ARB and Warn are excellent choices, but haven't found a bumper in either that I've liked.
Yeah i have the HighRock bumper and absolutely love it. I have had no problems with it and it came with a winch plate. I also bought the stainless steel grille guard
I've seen them, but am looking for something a little bit more aggressive looking. I have also looked at the Rugged Ridge XHD Modular bumpers, but I don't know how well they make their bumpers compared to their soft tops.
I've got the Rockmen Mercinary on mime, and its worth taking a look at. Winched out a custom rail jobber out of 3 feet of mud using one of my d rings as an anchor last weekend. Very strong and well built. Built in winch plate too, check my profile for pics.
it really depends on your taste in bumpers. I have a smittybilt XRC front bumper that just came in today.. Smittybilt makes a lot of cheaper versions of other things, but I think their bumpers are very very well built. I also have the XRC rear bumper and with all of the reenforcement that goes under it, that thing has to be close to indestructable. I also really like the look of the bestop highrocks, but I went with the XRC because I wanted a matching set and I liked the rear bumper much better. I'll put up pics once I get it installed.
Thank you for the info as I'm looking not for stainless steel, but the either glossy black texture. Though I will take a look at the smittybilt bumpers later tonight.
Here's a link to the Blue Torch Fabworks front bumper I just installed a couple of days ago. It fit perfectly and it's super-beefy. Comes with two d-ring mounts as well. And shipping didn't cost me a dime. 4wd.com was running a special......free shipping. Call them, they might still have that special going on right now. I'll see if I can upload some pics of my finished, installed front bumper. I went ahead and installed their rear bumper as well. Couldn't be happier with how they fit and how they're built.
