Looking for a TJ

I owned a 97 TJ for 4 years and had to sell due to life changes. Now, I am looking to purchase another TJ with a 4.0 and A/C to rebuild. Anyone know where I can get one for a decent price?

I have been looking for TJ models and they seem to be over-priced. They are running for high 6k - 12k with very high mileage. Back in 2001, I paid 7k for my 97 TJ with 50k on it. If anyone has any advice I would really appreciate it. Thank you!

David

Hi and Welcome to the forum David. The newer TJ's do seem to hold their value. Keep an eye on Craig's List and Auto Trader, something will come along. My only suggestion would be to buy something as close to stock as possible. That way you will have a clean slate to start building it the way you want.

I know about having to sell, had to sell my 79 cj7 i had built from ground up. But about a month ago found me a 98 tj on craigslist , auto 4.0 with air for 4600.00 I agree keep your eye on there. Good luck in your search.

I see from your profile you are in Fla. You might want to look at
Jeff's Jeep Yard, Court St in Clearwater. I have no personal experience with them, but they seem to have a lot of stuff.

Yeah TJs are hard to find for a fair price. To be honest the winter drops the price by about 2k if you can wait.
