Currently have an XJ cherokee, but looking to get a TJ.
This is what I am looking for. I have around a 10-11k budget. I'm located in Idaho, so I dont want to travel to the east coast for one lol
-4.0
-5spd
-Must have full doors
-black or grey interior
-color isnt a huge concern (though my least desired colors are black and yellow)
-100k miles or less (preferably 75k or less)
-stock as possible. most I would want is lift and tires
I picked up an '04 equipped exactly like that with 67k miles two years ago for $11 K, so they are out there. Took me six months of looking. Good luck with your search!
If your willing to do a fly and drive, I would say check out Denver Craigslist and surrounding areas. I know the Midwest doesn't have a lot of Jeeps for sale. They are more popular out West.
eBay, you can find jeeps all over the country. Compare prices. You have a buyers guarantee. I bought mine off eBay from Mississippi had it shipped here to Colorado. It cost me about four $4000-$6000 less than I would've if I would've bought the same jeep in Colorado Springs. There are a lot of jeeps in the west however special in Colorado they ask a premium for them.
bought mine over a year ago 98 sahara 80k miles 5 spd, south Florida jeep NO rust,
9k
Wasnt a big fan if saddle interior but pulled carpet and bedlined tub, painted center console with krylon flat black and have seat covers so you can see the seat.
I think I found one in Fresno. Waiting to here back from the owner. it's a 2001, 73k miles, 5spd, 4.0, black interior, silver, dana 44, stock. $11k obo.
I'm with you on that one. I like the extra space that the LJ has, but I just don't care for the stretched look. That's also one thing I hate about the JK Wranglers is that they also look more stretched.
No offense, but those both look like big piles of shit. First one is rusty, has ugly tan top and tan interior and is rusty. Second one, paint is in terrible condition for nearly $12k.
Out here in Southwest. Southern Utah, AZ, Nevada, SoCal. Very dry environment that doesn't promote rust. Look on all the Craigslists. MY friend got a 98 TJ 4.0 , stock dana 44 rear with 33" tires, 3" lift, manual, 110k, bone dry underside, no rust for $5500. I got my 97 4.0, manual with 150k, new 35" goodyear mt/r's, lockers front and rear for $6k. In Phoenix there's plenty with clean titles. I'll go look for you if they're in Phoenix. I've been wrenching my whole life. I'm pretty good at knowing what to look out for.
agreed a buddy of mine just paid 8k for one like that except black and it only had a soft top, I'd say if you can haggle down that's a good deal depending on if you're a fan of white vehicles
White vehicles can be pretty bro-tacular. I want to paint mine white.
