There is a Jersey Wrangler association. (forget the web site but if you google, you will find it) Go over to JKOwners.com - The community for Jeep JK Owners and in the NE section, they are always organizing wharton forest runs. I've been out with them a number of times. Also JeepForum.com - Jeep & Off-Road Discussion Community get postings for runs in the regional section.

i am a central jersey jeeper, but i need to ask you a favor, but not from an administrator stand point, from a concerned NJ jeeper. can you please refrain from referring to it as "rippin?" my husband and i were down in hammonton for an event 2 weeks ago, and we were informed that there is a lot of controversy surrounding wharton state forest. the "sport" of offroading is in serious jeopardy in the pine barrens because of some careless individuals who ride trails that are not open to the public, litter excessively, and have a complete disregard for everything that the tread lightly organization stands for. there are local people who are fighting tooth and nail to shut down the park to off roaders, and they actually troll forums looking for ammunition to present to the authorities. the event that i attended was being stalked by people with cameras the entire weekend, even though we were doing nothing wrong. the eco-activists look for anything they can to misconstrue and warp to fit their agenda. if we refer to it as "rippin trails" they will try to twist that into us destroying trails, they would completely ignore the slang meaning of "rippin" which merely means trail riding. thanks for understanding.

The area jgano23 is referring to is known as Quarter Mile. i used to go there before i found out it was one of the sensitive areas of the Pines. I have not been there since. There may be a few other areas but i don't know a thing about them.
