I have a 2.5L 97 that I bought about 5 months back. Although it only had 98k miles on it. Other than the large miles I'd say go for it. My 2.5 hasn't had a single problem with it. It tears up the mud and keeps up every where else. Plus the mpg is pretty nice

I get 21mpg if I'm not ripping up my RPM's I. 1st and 2nd gear. My tj has a light on it that tells you to shift up once you hit 2,000 rpm on each gear. But seriously. I get about 250-325 miles per tank depoending

There is no way in hell that your 4 popper is getting 21mpg. No frigging way.

Took 6 months for me to sell my stock 97 2.5 stick with 119K mile and all I could get was $4400 New soft top and half doors too. New tires and a solid frame.

Still, for that mileage, he is way high!!!

"WTB Jeep" should never be typed by anybody who cares about MPG. That said, looks like it could be a decent grab, but I would never daily drive anything with 220k miles on it, personally.

Run. Dont do it. 220k is just too high for that price! I just bought a 2000 with 88k miles, stock, with the straight 6 for $6500. Engine bay looks pretty dirty, makes me think it was abused off road. Now I know I abuse mine off road, but when I bought it the engine was almost spotless, no one abused it before me. You can clearly see surface rust on that frame (and in the engine bay too), which means theres probably more rust inside the frame and at the typical rust spots. Tires say 15-25%, is that left or used? If its left to me thats taking away from the price right away because that'll be the first thing to change to make it safe. When I bought mine the tires were BALD, looking like slicks from a track car. He wanted $7500 for it, I told him it would cost me $800 in tires just to make it road worthy, that helped me beat him up on the price.

All in all, theres going to be a much better deal for less money.
Boom, 85k on the motor, but I still wouldnt go for the 4 banger
2000 Jeep Wrangler
Bam, Less miles than you were looking at, cheaper, and body looks better
Jeep Wrangler
Wham, SAME PRICE, 100k less, straight 6 and outside is super clean
1990 Jeep Wrangler Sahara

Keep searching
