Looking to buy a Rear Bumper

I have a 97 TJ with 35's and im looking to buy a rear bumper with a tire carrier. Im going offroading enough that i cant get away with not carrying. When it is manditory to have a spare i have to remove the back seat which limits who i take. i been checking out websites and google for ideas but if anyone recommends one i would appreciate it, the more ideas and info the better. Also i would like to be able to carry my jack on the carrier/bumper.

ORFAB. dont have one but seen nothing but good things bout it. It mouns to your rear roll bar mount so its super strong

Vote for OR-Fab again. But remember you have to buy rear rockcrawler bumper separate because the tire carrier is not part of the rear bumper. I have both OR-Fab rear bumper and tire carrier and its awesome combo but you can always buy the tire carrier seperate and keep your factory bumper. Best tire carrier out there for 35' tires. It is very strong, won't sag from the heavy weight of tire and wont vibrates in high speed. Only thing bad is it's very hard and time consuming to install. Lots of drilling into body and adjustments.

There are a ton of Rear Bumper/Tire Carrier options out there. Some of them tell you if they accept a HiLift out of the box and others you would have to add a mount to. For instance, this Body Armor Bumper comes ready to mount you jack on.

Let me know if you see a bumper you're interested in and I'll get you set up with a quote!

JCROffroad is what I got.. place for HiLift jack and gas cans plus backup lights too.. very well made and good fit.
Also, it has a stop built in so that when you swing open the tire carrier, it will stay open.. very important if you are stopped and offcamber, and that would be most of the time when you are offroad..

Check out dirtworks.com
Good price, American made, tough as nails, and rattle free. Be warned they come bare metal and a bit slow but well worth the wait. I have had a 35 on mine for years and the front bumpers are just as nice. Good luck

i do have another requirement. i want to still see out my back window. it seems that alot of tire carriers out there put the tire so high up that you no longer have any vision out the rear.

Oh and last thing I know it's stupid but I like it. I would like one where I can put my bumper sticker on the new one.

FYI that spare on there is not the tires im currently running i just cant upgrade the spare to a larger size because of my Jack mount is welded there. so to summerize i want a bumper/tire carrier with the following

Hold at least 35's but want ability to go higher
Be able to see out the rear.
Hold the jack
Room to place my bumper sticker.

i feel like its like the saying have your cake and eat it too. idk if i have too many demands for what i want.

I actually like that one and metalcoak. I like the jcroffroad bc it has everything even a place for my lights but it doesn't have a spot for my sticker. And I really want that.

you have a couple of choices..
1) order it without the lights and work around the receiver or,
2) order it without the lights and without the receiver.
3) if your sticker will fit between the lights, then order with the lights and without the receiver.

I have it with the tire carrier, lights, receiver and snatch points w D rings.

X3 dirtworx

You could always cut the sticker phrase in half so it fits around receiver

On height you want it adjustable if you ever change tire size as you want it as low as possible but still with enough height to accommodate the biggest tire you will ever use and make sure it clears any receiver hitch

Dirtworx.

10 mounting points so the tirecarrier does not bounce around alot. However, i am still searching for the jerry can holders. The jerry can holders are expensive and hard to find. has anyone else had any luck with the holders? the ones i found were around 100 bucks.

do you have a body lift? it is hard to put the bumper on if you dont, might have to drop the gas tank.

whatever you want on the rear tire carrier he will add. call him up and get a quote

I am very happy with my Rock hard. It has a place to carry a hi lift. You can order jerry can mounts as well, but for extra money.

Lots of variance in price. No offense but $600+ isn't in the budget. For me I like the idea of bare metal as I can order a decent one, then weld/modify it to accept a high lift jack, and jerry cans follow with prime & paint job.

They look Pretty good, but pretty pricey. A front bumper like $365, rear setup at nearly $900. There got to be a happy medium, not too cheap, but decent in quality. So many brands out there.
