A 1995 is a YJ, not a TJ. It should have the square headlights. 1997 would be the first year for the TJ.
Both the 4 and 6 cylinder are simple, unsophisticated engines, and both have many examples of people with high mileage. The 6 cylinder has more hardcore fans than the 4, but there are plenty of people who got the 4, are happy, and are sticking with it.
And they're almost always cheaper!
Big tires, low gears and smaller engine will mean that you aren't going to go over a pass really fast. You're going to need a bit more space to pass an RV on a mountain road. But both engines get those complaints. It ain't a sports car.
Beyond the engine, you may want to ask some questions about the suspension: it changed a LOT from YJ to TJ, and that can have a big impact on daily driving. The TJs are a lot more civilized.
