Agreed, my brother threw a magnaflow on his Tacoma, he liked the more aggressive sound...until he took a 2 hour trip for vacation, the constant droning drove him nuts. I run banks and it's just loud enough that I don't hear it over wind and road noise on the highway.

Why so many haters when deleting the muffler is mentioned. Mine is low and grumbly not like a 2 stroke chainsaw at all. I do have the 4.0 though. the title of the thread did say loudest. My LS1 with hooker cat back is more obnoxious than my jeep that doesn't have a muffler. Listen to YouTube clips and make your own choice.

EH,

Agreed that quieter is better these days... with all the tree huggers out there crying noise pollution.

You do know that they are trying to close public lands to motorized recreation, right?

Keep the straight pipes and open exhausts for flexing on speed bumps.

At least be smart enough to run an approved spark arrester if you take your loud Jeep off road.

I hate loud exhausts on a Jeep, or any off-road vehicle for that matter. Nothing will ruin your perfectly peaceful camping trip in the wilderness like waking up to some moron romping the throttle of a loud arse vehicle at 6am.

I think the loud exhaust is a kid thing. I used to like the rumble of exhaust but I can't stand it any more. I like my Jeep with the stock exhaust system as it is, nice and quiet. Besides, 6 cylinders sound like crap with loud exhaust.

Well, crappy sounding exhausts are a kid thing. I'm a big fan of a good exhaust when appropriate.

Thanks you! wow.. i was getting scared. For a second I thought I was the only one that didn't have the highschool mentality of "listen to my LOUD exaust.. HUR HUR... Oh wait... you didn't hear it? Let me rap 'em off as I drive past you walking on the sidewalk, so you know for sure how awesome I am"...

Ugh. Reminds me of Harleys and the like. I honestly don't know if I can think of a more obnoxious thing...

Everyone has a different liking. Loud pipes doesn't mean your an idiot and drop it out of gear and hit the rev limiter or have a high school mentality. I say thank god we aren't all driving smart cars and Prius's that sound like Mosquitos haha. Sadly though we are getting to that point

Well, you got me on this one. I should have been more specific about loud exhaust and crappy sounding loud exhaust. Nothing sounds better than a good old V8 with some power to it. And I ride a Harley as well and that is not quiet. Nice car by the way, is that yours?
