low or no oil pressure

I know! Another oil pressure question. I want to have some sense of what I'm talking about before I take it to the dealership. At cold startup I have about 60 LBS of pressure and as the engine warms up it drops to none at idle and maybe 18 at 2000 RPMs. I changed the sender unit and no cahnge. The engine doesn't makes any unusual noises and the inside the valve cover is flowing with oil. I'm hoping it is as simple as a gauge problem or maybe a clogged pickup. Any one have any ideas on this? Thanks in advance. Tom

Engine? Mileage? Engine temperature? Oil Viscosity? all of these things can affect Oil Pressure.

I've seen people with dodge rams have no oil pressure before with a clogged catalytic converter. not sure if this applies to you, just a thought.

Its the cam bearings the 4.0 is known to have weak cam bearings I replaced the oil pump and all rod bearings installed a mechanical gauge and still have no oil pressure at idle I am running Lucas oil stabilizer until I can afford to replace the engine that being said I have driven almost 3000 miles since finding the problem the engine doesn't need alot of oil pressure unless it is under heavy load 4 wheeling, towing and such. But everything points to bad cam bearings I have spoken to several rebuilders Jasper and ATK and they said the same thing.

Engine Temp 210, 10w 40 ambiant temp 60 degrees

If it is the cam bearings, can I just replace them?. The compression is consistant and there is no noise or blowby. It has 90 K miles on it.

Sure you can, the down side almost the entire engine has to come apart to do it and you need a cam bearing installing tool or a good engine shop can do it by the time you are that far into it you might as well replace the oil pump and all the bearings you can get an ATK reman engine for around 2500.00 (thats a long block no tins) and it will have all new parts in itas well as a 100,000 mile warranty there are other engine shops out there as well ATK is just an example.
