Lower Control Arm Tip Needed.

I need some help with this guys. I am installing my teraflex 3" kit along with their monster flex lower control arms. I have the rear finished, the jeep is still on stands, but I can't seem to get the front control arms in. I've tried manipulating the axle on both sides to change the geometry, but I just cant get the holes in the frame/arm to line up. Are there any tips/tricks to do this easily that can be shared? thanks.

I usually use a ratchet strap and/or lower the Jeep just enough to put some weight on the front axle so I can get the holes to line up.

You could try a BFScrewdriver or prybar, put it through the lower control mount at an angle into control arm and pry till you push the bolt in from the other side.

So, I ended up getting the bolts in the holes, but my issue now is that bolt head for the axle bracket has a specific slot it has to fit in between 2 pieces of metal. The hole is oblong/oval allowing the bolt to move forward or aft, but this "guide" bracket acts as a lockwasher preventing the bolt from shifting. Should I just wrench it down and let the shop mess with it during the alignment or start from scratch? Thanks again.

It sounds like you are talking about the spots for the alignment washers to fit into.

At the axle end the bolt should have a pair of offset washers that fit between those metal plates. The bolt should have a shoulder to lock onto the one washer so you can turn the washer to adjust the caster of the axle.

I got the same lift!
I just bolted down the front cam washer things and had a shop adjust the caster.

not all Jeeps have an off-set camber washer, the stock bolts that go through the axle side of the front CA mount is just a thick washer like head, it doesnt adjust camber just centers the bolt, the nut is the same way, you can pull those down fairly snug, then lift the axle or use a ratchet strap (I use a come-along) to get that bolt to drop in place then tighten it the rest of the way down.

you're talking about the caster cam horseshoes. You should loosen/tighten the bolts such that the centering disc for the control arms is as close to the horseshoe as possible, without tighten it down. Then move the whole axle upwards, almost to full bump....eventually the bolt cams should slide in and line up. If that doesn't work, use a ratchet strap to pull the axle where ever it needs to go - best done with the springs removed. The springs aren't mounted directly over the axle tube in front, so there is an inherent rotational torque placed on the housing if the springs are installed.

That's why I got confused looking at mine. It just didn't look like an eccentric cam.

This sounds close to what I'm dealing with. Looks like I'm gonna try this method when I get home. I'm just pissed that I have to take the springs off again. Thanks guys... will let you know how it turns out.

once you get the control arms attached, push the axle to full bump with the springs out, so you can find out how much bumpstop extension you need. it's just another 2 minutes with a measuring tape.

Thanks for all the tips, guys! I basically removed the springs, installed the arm at the axle, then wrapped a ratcheting cargo strap around the hub and front bumper. Worked like a charm.
