Main bearing installation question

I am changing my RMS. when I reinstall the rear main bearing cap, do I need to put something on the bearing? Assembly lube? Grease? Engine oil? Bearing grease?

The factory service manual doesn't mention any thing about it, but I'm worried il mess something up.

Also, I loosened up the second to last (6th?) main bearing cap to help get the top of the seal out, I'm guessing I need to remove that bearing cap completely, and clean it then reinstall it like the rear main cap?

The bearing has a nick in it, probably 1mm x 2mm and I can feel it with my fingernail. It's in the middle of it. I'm not sure if I caused it or not, but it has no raised edges, so that's fine to leave right?

Any tips to get the old gasket sealer off of the engine block?

Sorry for all the questions. I'm anal about this stuff, especially when it's my own vehicle.

Just put a little oil on the bearing and seal and you'll be fine. As for the nick, just make sure it's not raised up.
