Unfortunately like so many of you I basically picked up the crack pipe when I bought my first wrangler and don't think I can put it down. I have a 97 tj with a 4" lift and have had a ton of fun modding it with my buddies and what not. It is a weekend toy and it gets driven to work every once in a while. Earlier this year I traded in my F-150 for a 2013 fusion. I love the car but I miss the truck so much. So as I've been looking at new trucks I've also been looking at jeep jk unlimited. My only problem is I don't know if I should keep the tj then. I could then sell the tj and put the money in the jk. Or I just keep the jk more stock and use the tj as the toy. Any one have two jeeps and feel my pain ?

If you have the space and the financial capability of maintaining two Jeeps, why not? It would be a good opportunity to make a trail rig out of the TJ.

I have a 03 QC Ram and drive that when its bad weather. Way warmer, quieter and spacious than a Wrangler. I'd say go for both and make the TJ a trail rig.

I have an 01 TJ and a 99 Cherokee. The TJ is my daily driver and the Cherokee a trail and mudding rig. I can't give the damn things up. It IS an addiction but I'll pass on the methadone.

If you have the finances for it, why not have 2?

But if you can't really afford it, it would probably make a wiser financial decision to sell the TJ and just concentrate on the new JK.

Good luck with the decision!

I can afford both if I was to drive the Jk like my car and not a wrangler. But I don't know if I can handle having a brand new jk and not wanting to max out my credit cards with stuff for it !

A JK is a Wrangler in name only. I know this because I had one and traded it for a TJ. A JK is a car, a TJ is a truck. The JK drives like a minivan, the TJ drives is sporty. The TJ is easy to work on and parts are relatively cheap, the JK is difficult to work on and very, very, very electronic and parts are very expensive.

The first step is admitting you have a problem

FWIW - I had a pickup for the longest time before I got my TJ. I bought a trailer from tractor supply for $600 which has a drop down ramp and a 5'x8' inside area. So that's my pickup truck now. Best part is when I don't need it - it's still a jeep.

I have a 2014 JK unlimited sport, and a 1997 TJ sahara. Keep the TJ. The JK is boring.

If you can keep the TJ and get the JKU. I have a 97 TJ and a 2013 JKU and love them both

I have a 97 tj and last year I gave it to my dad and he bought me a 08 Nissan frontier for work, after I stopped working I sold the truck and he gave me my tj back and he went out and bought a 2014 jku rubicon and he hasn't had it for long and already wants to put 12k into a lift and suspension alone without wheels and tires. I'm sure if your a true jeep person of course your going to want to max out the cards and make that thing badass, but if you can afford it go for it cause those new jeeps are really comfy inside and isn't bad for a daily driver.

I have a TJ that I kept stock because it is my daily driver. Personally, I think it is best to keep it stock if you want to use it as a daily driver, especially if it is a 4 banger. A Stock 4.0L TJ is quite capable.

TJs are like guns, once you acquire one you aren't supposed to sell it. Your hooked. Keep the TJ and buy the JKU. We have 2 TJs, trying to talk my wife into a JKU for her DD. Still not parting with the TJs.

That's exactly it . Just like a firearm ! It would be so weird seeing someone else in "my" wrangler !
