Lose the chrome, chop the bumper flush with the frame rails, replace the chrome hood latches with black units, paint the wheels, and throw some more aggressive tires in the 31" flavor under it. Adding tacky lights, roof racks, and other crap like that will be a long-term waste of time and money and will not pertain to your current goal.

Just to show you what a cute, little black Jeep can become when shit really hits the fan

X2! You're in great area for Jeep parts. Lots of builds in the Dayton area & there is always some good stuff popping up down there. Plus you're close enough to Orlando to search that market too.

You're also right next to Toy Box Jeep Toybox Jeeps Home Page They mainly restore CJs, but you never know what parts they might have.

If it were me I'd add some beefy 31s if you're not ready for a lift. As far as chrome, that's personal pref.

My jeep looked just like yours when I first got it. I now have added a 2.5" lift, black soft 8's, and mtr tires. And my front bumper is stock with the kc lightbar.

Mild lift and some aggressive tread tires. You can do that without breaking the bank.

I agree on- loosing the chrome nerf bars, free to do and you might make a few bucks selling them. 2" budget boost, mild 31's. Loosing the bumper ends, maybe add an angle cut to the bumper. Black out bezels. Those light hoops look sharp.

I don't agree with black steel wheels..... I don't think that makes a jeep look anymore manly or rugged, just looks like a cheep set of wheels, and everybody has them now-a-days. Stick with the stock rims, spacers if needed, unless you step up to a 12.50 tire <- might want to get some wider/more offset rims for those.

Paint the rims if you want, but stick to a dark gray.....maybe pull in that same dark grey in other places like the bezels, door handles, flares, so on.

Bedline the bumpers, and maybe the flares. Top coat the bedliner with a matte black paint, or the afore mentioned dark grey. I did this on my XJ with Herculiner, and it looked great and lasted.

Another thing that I always notice is a CB antenna.... Don't do it unless you actually plan to run a CB and use it though.

Body armor (not the clothes, the metal ) always works.

Your jeep is as manly as you feel it is, unless it is pink....you can't even pretend manlyness with pink....

Spend $50 and take it to Jeep Beach next month at tha speedway. You will get to rub elbows with other jeepers and look at some rigs to get ideas. 4 days of fun and Jeeps. Vendors everywhere, you may even be able to find some deals on used parts from other jeep owners. You are right there so you can get your ticket and not have to worry about a hotel and go every day.
Here is another before and after, but none of the mistake pictures in between then and now.

lol Rule of thumb... If your headlights are same hight as a cars taillights (like the black car in the picture) your jeep is "cute".

That would be even more cute.

Okay, on a serious note. First install a lift and more bigger and aggressive tires for starter. Remember once you do this, there is NO turning back! At first my Jeep was like yours and now she is all grown up.

Nope! you can do fit 31's with no lift and dont need to regear. if you go with 33"s you'll need to regear. the only time you need to regear is with bigger tires cause if the different ratio with the larger diameter tire. Lifts have nothing to do with the gear ratio

I wouldn't go more than a 2" budget boost or a 1" body lift. 31's will work on stock just fine and not bad up to a 2" lift.
