This thread has become some kind of odd mishmash monster.

Also, my dog can't figure out how to use his back legs... He's retarded... But not a sissy!

Just getting it dirty does help a lot but so does big tires and lifts

Stock bumper minus the jugs (replaced with end caps), a $50 bolt on KC light bar (I will be adding some lights soon), $15 tow hooks from Summit (you'll need longer bolts)

The black steel rims, $50 each

My armor kit ran me $280. Some may criticize it because it's plastic and they don't see where it would do much good, but I live in Louisiana, south Louisiana, and we don't have rocks. What we do have is mud, shrubs and small trees. Those plastic plates are more than enough to prevent tree limbs from scraping off your paint or putting a small dent in the fender.

From using the Jeep, you will also figure out what needs to stay and what needs to go. You can't accomplish that by spending money with Quadratec, you have to actually use it to make it genuinely look more manly - it becomes manly because of how it is used, not because of what is bolted on it. Simply slapping rockcrawling gear on a vehicle that isn't going to crawl on rocks ever or rarely is stupid, and is apt to make you look like one of those MallCrawler folks, which is both sad and contemptible, all at once. You don't need rock sliders, or the holes you have to drill in the tub to mount them, to drive on beaches.

In the meantime, lose things that serve no productive purpose - the plastic milk jugs on the bumpers, the jankyass chrome steps, stuff like that. Once you start buying, PLEASE don't be a cliche - ill-fitting Soft8 wheels with too little backspacing, lots of body armor on a beach-and-dunes vehicle, a half-dozen different auxiliary lights, etc.. That's not cool, it makes you look like a 20 year old white trash kid with no sense or taste.

Also, consider putting your spare money towards paying the thing off. The TJs have been out of production long enough that nobody should still be making payments on one.
Yes on back country use. I live in the country in Utah and have to drive 2 miles in winter on snowy roads just to reach a plowed road. Learning how to drive is important.

Wrong on the lights but I guess that depends on where you live. Here in morning and evening twilight I've come across not a deer, or an elk but herds of them on the hwy. Very little traffic on the hwy here given the boonies and my lights have saved my rear more than once from eating an elk running 60+. ARB gave me the milk jugs and I've used them to push people when I couldn't pull them. Saved their paint and bumper.

Ha...that was up (from me) in catahoula parish at Sicily. At first I made cam keep her shoes on but we ended up in a creek bed and she was happier with her shoes off.

P.s. if any of you want to donate a winch, I'd really appreciate it!! Lol

No need for a winch you've got a hilift jack. That pus 5 hours of spare time will get you out of most situations.

A winch, tube fenders, rocker guards, large tires, custom bumpers, primer, and mismatched colors should do it...

I wouldn't use Plasti-Dip on fenders if you actually off-road with it. The stuff is pretty tuff but one good scrape from a tree branch will start peeling it.

Use either Duplicolor Bumper Coating, rubber undercoating spray or rubberized bed liner.
The best look would be Bumper coating. It is made for plastic. Bonds, flexible, looks like stock plastic.

The key to having it last is in the prep.

Clean your fenders with soap and water (Dawn), wipe them with acetone, use Duplicolor Adhesion promoter...
