MasterCraft Shorty Bench Seat

my daughter is getting a little older and i want to start taking her wheelin' with me.. she'll be 5 this year and i can go on more wheelin' trips if i bring her with me.. anyone out there have one of these installed? i want to make sure it's not to big for her so she'll be strapped in tight back there.. i already have a full cage, so i will just need to add a bar for the harness behind the back seat..

Is this for your Jeep?

Any reason you decided against a stock rear seat and appropriate Child seat?

yes, it is for my jeep and she has outgrown the typical car seat and i want to get her in a seat with a full harness around her so she'll be safe in case something goes wrong.. i'm hoping to find someone who has already done their back seat for their child and make sure she can fit.. i've found a company that makes the single seat for children 5 to 12 years old, but i want to keep a full back seat.. never know when we want to go cruise the beach and need room for 4 people..

Which need mounts to be installed. They are where the straps for 5 point harnesses attach to.

Unless you have a five point harness, or whatever, designed specifically for a child you may be putting her in harms way. Plus, most states require children to be in a booster of some sort until certain ages/weights are met. IMHO you may be better off get a high back booster (no straps) and securing the booster to keep it from moving, then use the standard 3-point in the back. Also, some child car seats (5-point) have belts rated to 60 pounds (that would probably be the safest for wheeling with a kid).

i understand that.. you said it with a question.. i have a full cage already and just need to add another bar behind the back seat and weld tabs for the harness to mount to.. i'm talkin' about finding someone who has already set up their back seat for children..

that's the point of this thread.. tryin' to find someone who has done what i'm tryin' to do.. yes, she is still required to use a booster seat.. i found this seat and it's made to fit kids age 5-12:

PRP Seats. Pre-teen Seat (Kids 5 - 12 years old)

but like i said, i'm tryin' to find the bench seat that will suit my purpose.. i don't want to mount just 1 seat back there or buy 2 different seats.. if it can't be done, then it can't be done.. i'm also talking to an upholstering shop that might can modify the stock back seat to put a harness thru the back of the seat that is specific to her size and i can adjust as she grows identical to a car seat made for babies up to age 3..

I'm tracking now. I'll be interested to see how it all works out, since my co-drivers are 5,2, and 1. Two carseats in the back is a pain.
