I have a 2003 Rubicon with a 4" lift. It came with 33" tires on it when I bouht it two years ago and they have been great for all the crawling I've ben doing. Other than the bumpers and the lift, the Jeep is stock. What are the largest sized tires I can run without havinG to make any modifications? I've heard that if you go too large you have to modify axles or gearing etc. And do not want to do that. Thanks!

33s are as high as you can go on a 4 inch lift assuming that you dont want to regear or add any other mods..to go up to 35s youd want to regear, get another inch of lift, stronger brakes and steering, etc.

what do you mean without doing any modifications? you've got a 4" lift, that is a major modification. We don't know what 4" lift you have and what components have already been modified so how can we make a tire size recommendation?

with 4" of lift, you can fit anywhere from 33s to 37s depending how you setup your bumpstop extensions & fenders. bumpstop extensions are pretty important, so make sure those are installed and proper length.

also with 4" of lift on a Rubicon, you want a CV rear driveshaft. so if you don't have one, you'll want to get one.

post pictures of the springs, shocks, rear track bar bracket, bumpstops, steering, t-case and rear driveshaft. we can make an intelligent recommendation from there.

With a 4" lift I'd stick with 33s and you'll be fine. Anything bigger and you'll start getting into the mods that you are trying to avoid, not that those modifications are bad but, there's no point in making modifications that you don't/won't need.
