MCE Flat Fenders Review

I have been eyeing these fenders for a long time because of the look and they are cheaper than the metal replacement fenders. So, after a little run in with the garage and our 98 TJ's driver side fender, a temporary bondo fix was in order. Once the bondo started cracking a few months later it was time for something new.

Ordered two sets of "Generation II 3.5in flat fenders" and "clear LED marker lights" from MCE. Also ordered some "Clear JK turn signal housings" from Quadratec. I also had to get one of these new "Flashers" (there are some good write-ups on how to install LEDs).

Overall I love the look of the CJ style fenders on a TJ/LJ. It took about a days worth of work to do two Jeeps from start to finish. This includes cutting, drilling, installation, painting, and wiring for the lights.

Thanks to MCE for making a great product that is great looking at a great price.

Thank You everyone for the responses!

Jerry: Thank You for the JK turn signal housing idea in your write up.

Quality/Durability: Great. I have had some bushes up against them and they dont sratch easily. They are really thick (the plastic). I pulled them out of the box and was surprised. Well see in the long run (I have only had them on for a week) if they fade or break down (which I highly doubt).

A Note when installing:
MCE says that you should grind down the nutserts under the fender. We did not on both Jeeps and actually used one of them for the bottom fender mount (seen in picture). We had to hog out one of the Holes on the little bracket to get them to fit on the 98 TJ. Just something to think about instead of drilling extra holes.
