Mileage on your Auto Trans

Hi,

I am looking for a used TJ 97-00 with a Automatic 3-speed Transmission. I wanted to know what type of mileage have others have been able to get out of their Auto Transmission before needing to overhaul it or having to replaced it?

Has anyone hit 200K?

(I do not want to start an Auto vs manual thread)

Thanks,

Rod

Mine has 90k on it and as far as i can tell shifts like a brand new tranny. Doesnt leak anywhere, and when you check the fluid looks and smeels like new fluid even though it has about 40k on it. Thats all teh info I can give...

mileage

I've got a 2000 2.5 4cyl. 97,000 miles.Gas mileage was terrible. I just replace gears to 4:56 and it it awesome. What a big difference. I have 33's on her. I had the tranny replaced about 3 months ago. My daily driver and off road toy.

Run it til the light come son and go top it off. If you get 15 in her you got the 19 gallon tank... get 12 in her and you have the 15 gallon tank.

the 3spd auto tranny doesn´t like deep water or deep mud. the tranny breather is located in the housing where the tranny is mounted to the engine. i know +15 people they had water in the tranny on this way. and that can be very expensive.

That's the same combination I now have with a 3-speed automatic conversion (from a 5-speed AX-15) that is almost finished. Those highway RPMs are about the only thing I'm not looking forward to. It should be SWEET offroad though.
