This thread may have cured my desire to do home-made mods to my Jeep. I think I'll just stick to store bought mods.

Many great products started out "homemade". Do not be discouraged!

Remember, good 4x4's are built not bought.

It was good wasn't it? Especially Baka's comment about hollowing out his antenna.

Opportunity exists in the strangest places. Hollowing out the antenna is viable idea.

I heard about a guy that got a great deal on a strip of property 12 miles long and 1 inch wide. He's made a fortune on it growing spaghetti.

Not discouraged, just having some early morning fun.

But modifying the milk jugs? As the saying goes, you can't polish a turd!

thanks for the entertainment,Bob!Funniest post I have seen in a while! The milk jugs are about as useless as tits on a boar hog,and I laughed loudly last night when I first saw it,and am still laughing!Sorry about your loss,Bro!I have been refurbishing a Jeep add-a-trunk that I purchased off ebay.Perhaps you might want to consider that for semi-lockable storage!

I'll bet it was the hyper aerodynamic drag created by the added wind turbulence from the hinge that created an air pocket, which in combination with the warp-factor speed that Jeeps are notorious for achieving, that created a perfect combination of conditions that resulted in the catastrophic failure of your highly-prized invention,Bob!Sorry about the loss of your valuable invention!I truly hope some enterprenuer doesn't scoop your idea and get rich!

believe it or not, but you can in fact polish a turd. they did it on mythbusters. it was kinda gross, but cool at the same time.
