MM lift and a TC drop?

Just had a Zone 3" lift installed with the supplied TC drop. Getting a slight shimmy/vibration when first accelerating, but completely fine after that.
Don't have the money for a SYE, but would installing a MM lift help? Can you run both the MM lift and TC drop at the same time?

Chances are good that your transmission mount is weak or partially torn if the vibe is only when accelerating from a stop. I would change that out first...about $30 at Napa. The steeper drive line angle produced by lifting can sometimes show up issues that were there to begin with, but just not noticeable with the stock angle.

If that doesn't correct it, try placing a couple of flat washers between the skid and frame at each bolt location where the t-case drop is, but I would rule out the tranny mount first.

The mml and t-case drop together would IMHO, be too much of angle on the drive train in that, with the stock drive shaft, the pinion angle and t-case angle should be parallel. Worst case, add the mml, then use washers instead of the t-case drop to adjut the t-case down slightly. Do you have a D35 or D44 rear dif?

X2 on what Water Dog said. I did a mml with 3 inches of suspension lift and was able to completely get rid of my tc drop. But check the transmission mount first.

Stick with the stock rubber mount. Rubber transmits less vibrations than poly.

A D44 differential has a pinion housing that is slightly longer (about an inch) than a D35. An inch longer pinion housing means an inch shorter drive shaft so it will typically take just a little more angle to get rid of vibes than if you had the D35.

The TC drop if already installed is ok, with a MML. but if you don't want to start chopping things up like the fan shroud, you need a BL (body lift), and a 1.0" MML looks good with a 1.25" BL, and the TC drop will still work, and help with driveline angles.
