MML eliminates vibes...

almost no one has a RC 3.25" suspension lift on this site, its mostly over on JF. There is a guy over there who claims he added a MML to his jeep (4.0L) D30 and 35 and did not need to use his TC drop kit and had no vibes. Now i am running my TC drop kit and still have some vibes on acceleration. I can see adding a MML to eliminate my current vibes with the TC drop kit, but not being able to eliminate it all together.

What do you think, any of you experienced this type of scenario

Installing a MML like M.O.R.E.'s rubber "Bombproof" mounts would add to the effect given by your transfer case drop. I'd expect their combined effect to be enough to eliminate the vibes from a 3.25" suspension lift. Just avoid any of the polyurethane based MML kits which easily allow the engine vibes to pass through them and into the passenger compartment.

Did you install MML and did it took care of the vibes? I have the same lift on my Jeep and running TC drop right now. I have ordered MORE's MML and should be getting it sometime next week. Will update here once I install it (in about 2 - 3 weeks).

I installed the RC 2 1/2 inch lift and had vibration to an extent. It came with the tc drop kit but i opted for the mml. After I installed the mml, all the vibes were gone, then installed 1 1/4 body lift and still no problems at all

You are on the border of either needing a SYE or not. Remember when you are installing new lift springs DO NOT torque the axles to the springs on the lift or jack stands. Wait until the weight of the jeep is on the suspension until you torque them down.
Sounds like a minimal difference, but you would be suprised.
Its a good Idea to install SYE and a CV D.shaft with lifted YJ over 2.5" for safety and better performance.

Motor mount lift, lifts the engine/trans to center the fan in the fan shroud when used in conjuction with a BL (body lift). Also helps a bit with driveline angles when using a suspension lift.

mitch, i dunno man. kind of an annoying situation for sher. i'd grab a mml, MORE or browndog, then see what happens. if the vibes are gone, i dunno what your tc drop looks like but you can go buy some washers and slowly bring the skid up to get some clearance back? plus, the mml is a very simple install. and you get that extra clearance from bumps underneath, but you've got a bl in tehre already ya? so you'll have to relocate those fan shroud bolts back to their original spot.

Yeah i have a strong feeling that if i install the MML i'll still have some vibes. I mean i have the 3.25" RC lift with an additional .75 spacer up front, i have my TC drop installed and i still have Vibes at a crawl and under hard accel, that with a 1" BL too.

If i throw in a MML I just feel it wont be enough, but it wont hurt to try

no it definitely won't hurt, and for all ya know it could fix everything for ya. instead of losing $100 and still having the problem, you could do the jks mml blocks instead, i did those, $54 sound right? a real easy install, a vise and hack saw or grinder will defintiely make the job easier for ya for the adapter screws.

I have a similar issue, brand new D44, SYE and CV driveshaft, took the TC drop kit out, Huge vibes and roaring sound at 65 to 70, Took it to a driveline shop, had the front DS balanced and rebuilt, they adjusted my rear control arms to put my pinion angle 2 to 3 degrees below my driveline angle, put a couple of washers under the TC skid, still roars at 65 to 70, would an MML help me?....Jerry??? Rollin on RK 4.0 lift

Not Jerry here, but I just "redid" my SYE/CV driveline angles, and now have zero vibs up to the 75MPH I tested at.MY rear pinion sits right at 1 deg lower than the Tom Wood driveshaft.MY first try got me 1/2 deg high, and I had slight vibs above like 60MPH.I would recheck the work, its fast and easy to do with one of those Home depot angle finders.

Oh,I forgot to add,I have a BL and MML with over 4" of suspension lift, and the MML was not enough.I had vibs even with only 1/2 deg high angle....

i think a mml might help ya. i'm on 4.5" 1"bl w/1" browndog mounts, supershort sye, & tommy ds, on 36" iroks, i can open up to 85mph and still get no vibes while driving straight as an arrow. that could very well be the issue... there's really no downside to it all

So if I install a 1" MML would I have to install a body lift also?

If you install the MML without the BL your fan will not fit (center) in the radiater shroud.

Damnitt!!! I hate body lifts, so there is no way to adjust, or move the fan shroud?

you dont need a BL to do a MML, if you do one or the other by themselves you will just need to readjust the fan shroud. People are just saying you you do them both together there is no adjusting needed. And i have herd of people on Jeepforum running a 4in SL with a MML and had no vibs, but some ppl running the saame had to throw in some washers under the skid.

Sounds easy enough, does it require any drilling or mods?

usually its the other way around.People do the BL without the MML and have to lower the fan shroud and drill new holes an inch lower. The MML along would require you to raise the fan shroud and drill new holes,if theres room? But if you have a 4" suspension lift, with adjustable upper arms,SYE/CV kit,you shouldnt have to use a MML to get rid of driveline vibs.Sounds to me like the pinion angle isnt set right ..
